Chyběl nám tentokrát ředitel závodu a hlavní organizátor běhu.

Day 19 The weather was the runners friend again this morning and afternoon, as clouds obscured the extra warmth of the high sun and breezes cooled the course a bit. But the runners kept moving along. Ashprihanal Aalto padded his lead and garnered more honors by running 77.38 miles. Galya Balatskyy was also marvelous with his 19th straight day over 70 miles. Yuri Trostenyuk moved into third place almost by default as Atmavir Spacil endured another tough day with a balky stomach. More strikingly, Vasu Duzhiy ran 72.44 miles to claim fourth place and come within six laps of third. He has run over 70 miles in eight of the last nine days. Stutisheel Lebedyev rebounded from two rough days to run 66.4 miles, and Surasa Mairer is moving along nicely after another 64.2 mile day.

Rupantar has been the race director of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team since 1985, having been asked by Sri Chinmoy to serve in that capacity. fryer_2013.jpgThe following article appeared in the online website Ultra168 and is about Australian ultra runner Martin Fryer's experience in the 2013 Self-Transcendence 6 and 10 Day Races held in Flushing, New York. Ultra168 is a group of Sydney-based ultra marathon runners who share a passion for running on trails, as well as reporting on what’s happening in the world of trail and ultra running.

Martin Fryer is for me, and for many others one of the Godfather’s of Australian ultra-running. The respect I have for this man is huge. He gets on with his business with little or no fanfare on Facebook, and delivers time and time again with quite staggering results that you really do have to read twice to get a grasp of what he’s just achieved. None more so than his recent effort at the Sri Chinmoy 10 Day race that was recently held in New York where he amassed over 1,100kms over 10 days!

Day 18  It was a little warmer today- 27ºC- but the intrepid runners had some cloudcover and 'nor'easterlies' to keep the air moving. Six of the eleven made past fifty, with three gents flipping seventy miles onto the scoreboards. Vasu Duzhiy climbed to within 10 miles of Yuri Trostenyuk as the scramble for fourth place continued. He reached 70 miles and has set his sights higher still. Galya V. Balatskyy moved the streak along with his 18th consecutive 70 mile day. He also recorded a fine 1300 mile split. Ananda-Lahari Zuscin emerged from the lower depths of the scoreboard to post a solid 61.5 mile day- his best effort since Day 5. Ashprihanal Aalto continued the quest for a historical performance with 77.92 miles. He has widened the gap to second place by 79 miles.

It was a warm sticky summer evening for runners at the Meadows tonight for the Self Transcendence 1 July 5km.

After 1 mile Edinburgh AC's Marathon man Neil Renault was tied with Corstorphine's Dougie Selman in 4.55 with Hill Runner Eoin Lennon from Carnethy back in third.  Renault and Selman remained  together at 2 miles reached in 9.55.  Selman then tried to make an effort to get away but had to work hard on the last lap  for the win, prevailing in 15.16, with Renault pushing him all the way with 15.18, Lennon held on for third in 16.16.  Selman tweeted later "Renault forcing me into a serious sprint at the end of my 3x15mins!" A good night’s session indeed.

in the women’s race,  Edinburgh AC's Charlotte Garry led the way at the mile which she reached in 5.53 clear of Cath Ferry (EAC ) and Linlithgow's Lynn McGill who were tied at 6.09. Garry pushed on to go through 2 miles in just under 12 minutes and finish a comfortable winner in 18.48 with McGill (20.03) getting the better of Ferry (20.15 on the last lap.

Mike McQuaid finishing in 8th place overall  took the MV50 prize in 17,26, with Matin  Veale (20.27) keeping up his streak of MV60 wins.  Jill Swales (Jog Scotland) was 1st FV50 (24.37) with Betty Gilchrist first FV70 (25.18).

Day 16 The weather cooperated again today as the entire field reached at least 58+ miles each. Four stalwarts made it past 70 miles, led again by the power trio at the top- Ashprihanal Aalto(75.18); Atmavir Petr Spacil (70.24); and Galya V. Balatskyy (71.34). Vasu Duzniy climbed into the 70's club again today with 71.34, and Yuri Trostenyuk was just a lap shy of the club with 69.68. The overall improved fitness and good running weather allowed fine performances for the day. Stutisheel Lebedyev went past the 1000 mile split for the eleventh time in as many years. First timer Nirbhasa Magee thrilled everyone and the folks at home with his first-time past the kilo mile mark. Only four laps separate the distaff race as Surasa Mairer is running a solid race with her younger competitor-friend, Kaneenika Janakova, inching a little closer with a 63.66 mile effort.
